Meet Margo
Writer, Spiritual Director, Public Speaker, Minister
I was born and raised in mid-coast Maine, in a Catholic family. Incredibly, I've lived on the North Shore of Massachusetts for over 30 years but still consider myself a Mainer at heart. I've been married to Scott, a career Youth Minister and Evangelization Director, for almost a quarter-of-a-century. I love to write, read, quilt, and hang out on the porch, and can recommend your next favorite podcast in almost any genre.
I worked in parish ministry for over 25 years, starting in Youth Ministry and eventually working with people at every stage of the lifespan. I've created faith formation programs that have helped people of all ages ask great questions, grow in faith, and find a comfortable place within their religious tradition.
I hold Bachelors' Degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH (RIP) and an M.Ed. in Religious Education from Boston College. I received certification as a Spiritual Director from the Franciscan Shrine Spiritual Direction Training Program in Boston in 2022. I currently serves as the Catholic Pastoral Associate at a wonderful retirement community (referred to as "The Village" in her writing) in MA.

Okay okay, enough with the dating profile intro. Here's what I want you to know. I have a broken-open heart for adults who work in ministry, and it has been my honor to mentor many faith formation and pastoral leaders for many years. I also want to create a soft landing place for anyone who is examining their childhood faith, letting go of what holds them back from living abundantly, and taking hold of what does.
It would be my honor to walk with you through deconstruction, reconstruction, doubt, questions, and joy.
You'll feel supported, believed in, and encouraged.
You will have ownership over your own journey. You won't feel judged, lectured to, manipulated, or talked down to.
You will laugh. I really can't help that.
I'm taking new directees in person and online. Reach out today to schedule a (free) initial conversation.
It's brave of you to still be here, still trying, still asking, still touching the hem of God's garment. I'm proud of you. Don't quit yet.

Oh, and also?
I have a podcast, and it's called Lux. My friend Steven and I try to shed light on the weekly Sunday Gospel readings, and it's pretty cool. Click on the lux page of this website for the link, and please do subscribe. Smash that "like" button, or whatever.
I also have a Substack, and you can read it here and even sign up for it to be delivered to you straight to your bathroom or wherever you read emails. Here's the link to check it out.
One more thing, I'm writing a book about how you can stay Catholic if you want to, without giving up your faith in God and/or your integrity. It's called Recovering Catholic(ism).
Stay tuned.
